Hi, I’m Ed

My consulting work

I am most passionate about improving organizations, especially mission-driven and public sector organizations such as national/federal, state and local governments, United Nations agencies and international development banks. I enjoy helping them become more thriving, adaptive, human organizations that can fully tap into the potential within them. While there are many ways to do this, my clients usually ask me to help them in these areas:

  • Public sector strategy & strategy development
  • Strategic initiatives management / strategy execution / program mgt
  • Organizational design & development
  • Business development, resource mobilization & proposal development
  • Value and impact / results management
  • Performance / continuous improvement
  • Business process management

I previously co-founded and co-managed the management consulting arm of a UN agency after having spend a number of years advising governments and managing capacity development programs in Afghanistan, South Sudan, Palestine, and Indonesia among others. Prior to joining the UN, I was involved in technology start-ups and management consulting in Sydney, Australia.

My consulting career by numbers:

Global experience

I’ve also been honoured to work abroad and learn about how public sectors work in non-western environments, such as developing countries and fragile states.

My CV / resume can be found here.

My other projects

I also work on a couple of projects that get me excited. One helps young kids struggling through tough times and mental health challenges. The other looks at how we can be better at raising support for business and social action. Both projects are in the works so more info on these later!

Outside of work me

Outside of the virtual world I call an ‘office’, I can be found admiring my super-heroine partner, hanging with the little man, butchering the french language, and travelling back to my spiritual home in Sydney for coffee, brunch, and beaches when I can. I love wandering around Art Galleries and museaums, and can be found watching just about any sport that involves a ball. I also enjoy living the sweaty life (but don’t worry i’m not going to try to convert you to trail rides/runs, deadlifts and kettle bells). And I consider myself a ‘cheating vegetarian’, which means if we become friends and you cook a BBQ, I’ll only judge myself while I enjoy it with you. If you have the time you can also learn some random things about me.
